I'm obsessed with dub. From it's deep history to it's enduring influence on contemporary producers, nothing warms my soul more than the heavy quake of a plump dub bassline. To share my infatuation of this lowest of danceable frequencies, last week I played a special dub themed radio show from a dark basement at MIT. I got a little carried away with the echo effects, but then, isn't that the whole point? Download and share if you please.

I love the work of David OReilly. He's brilliantly imaginative and deliciously twisted. Humur so dark it will make your blackened toenail curl. The External World premiered at last years Venice Film Festival and was posted online just last week. Features cameo voiceovers from Julian Barratt and Adam Buxton.

Right before I embarked on my mind altering pilgrimage to Tokyo, friend and provider of an extensive insiders guide to said city, Davi Liu, came by the studio to throw some tracks into the evenings live mix. The ensuing broadcast became my constant soundtrack to the endless miles I pounded, tracks seemingly dropping at the perfect moment to match what was sinking into my saucer-like eyes.

Despite being almost entirely responsible for the spread of dismal reality telly in the UK, Channel 4 is still capable of creating lovely brand idents. I've been a fan since the channel launched in the 80's with it's classic rolling shapes, and this new package from Rudd Studio doesn't disappoint.
